27 Kg of marijuana recovered, three persons arrested by police

Gulpet police have arrested three persons while selling ganja at Betamagala road on the outskirts of town and recovered 27 kg of ganja and a motorbike.

The police gave the names of arrested as Venkatesh, a resident of Krishnagiri district in Tamil Nadu, Manjunath of Boodikote village in Bangarpet taluk, and B. Suresh of K.R. Puram in Bengaluru. The raid was conducted on Sunday based on a tip-off.

North Korea agrees to host UN right experts for the first time

North Korea has agreed to host a UN rights expert for the first time, granting access next week to the special rapporteur on disabled people’s rights, the world body said Thursday. Catalina Devandas-Aguilar is scheduled to arrive in the isolated nation on Wednesday following an invitation from Pyongyang, the UN rights office said in a statement. Her visit “will be the first ever to the country by an independent expert designated by the UN Human Rights Council,” the statement said. The rights council has accused North Korea of committing crimes against humanity and detaining up to 1,20,000 people in brutal prison camps. India Throws Open Its Border To Bangladesh

In a rare move, India has resolved to aid Bangladesh build border outposts at Chittagong Hill tracts. India has also decided to allow Border Guard Bangladesh to construct 13 border outposts using the road connectivity available in the bordering states of Tripura and Mizoram. On multiple occasions, India has provided particulars of insurgent operating from the dense hill tracts of Chittagong. The Border Security Force of India is learnt to have furnished an information identifying 21 functional insurgent camps to Bangladesh. Nevertheless the latter refuse to acknowledge the existence of any such camp. The BGB will be crossing lines of 100 km distance in India to transport building materials from Bangladesh to Chittagong.
